Proud to be Pro-Life

Dear Friends,

Last week was a difficult week for those of us in New York State who are pro-life. It was tragic to watch as our governor signed a bill allowing for late-term abortions and much more. Sadly, our state already had in place the most progressive abortion laws and now they are the most progressive of any state in the country. I am not a politician, but it does seem to me there should have been more pressing issues on the agenda for our state legislature and senate in the new year.

The most powerful thing you can do for your kids

As parents, we are called to be co-creators with God. Let us never forget the partner we have working along side us — actually in us! Through our baptism, we are inserted into the mystical body of Christ, that is, the Church. We are clothed with him; he is so very close to us — he is with us and in us. There is great power in this relationship. As Jeannie Cunnion points out in her article The most powerful thing you can do for your kids, we build and maintain this relationship with prayer, and through it, we can find peace.
